The 1919 Winnipeg General Strike: A Walking Tour for Teachers

Please join the Manitoba Educators for Social Justice for a walking tour of the historic sites of the Winnipeg General Strike. Learn some more about our radical local history and then plan a trip for your own students! We will meet outside of Forth (171 McDermot Ave) and go for a walk. Wear appropriate footwear and dress for the weather. We will then return to Forth for drinks, discussion and a sharing of lesson plans/resources to help teach about the strike. Two books will be given away: “1919: A Graphic History of the Winnipeg General Strike” and “Magnificent Fight” by Dennis Lewycky.
