Are you interested in getting published but aren’t sure of the process? In this full-day Master Class, Marjorie DeLuca will walk you through the steps you’ll need to get your manuscript to a publisher, whether you want to self-publish, or send it to a large or small traditional publisher, a magazine or you are simply interested in submitting your story to a contest.
The morning will be the information session covering the main steps:
1) Is your manuscript ready?
2) Traditional or self-publishing?
3) Publishing with or without an agent pros and cons
4) Traditional publishing without an agent
5) Traditional publishing with an agent
6) Crafting the perfect Pitch or Query Letter
7) Querying etiquette
8) Agency contracts
9) What happens next?
10) Getting a book deal
The afternoon will be a workshopping session, where Marjorie will help you perfect your query letters. Once Participants register (https://mbwriters.ca/events/from-manuscript-to-publication-how-to-navigate-the-industry/), they should submit their draft query letter to the Guild email ([email protected]) so Marjorie can revue the letters ahead of time and provide critiques on how to improve them.
